EAL sortea un Nexus One

La web de Android “El Androide Libre” ha tenido la magnífica idea de sortear un Google Nexus One y un set de Camiseta+Chapa+Muñeco de EAL.
Esta web, seguida diariamente por un servidor, ofrece noticias, novedades, artículos de opinión y reviews de todo lo referente al mundo Android.
Desde eXpert Designs deseamos mantengan (o aumenten aún más) el éxito actual y que nos sigan ofreciendo la misma calidad que hasta ahora nos vienen dando.

2.x para la Magic desde Vodafone

Pues eso, parece que dentro de poquito vamos a tener una actualización OTA oficial de Android para nuestras magic, eso sí, no sabemos qué es exactamente lo que perderemos por el camino, pero esta claro que igual que la rom del Nexus no va a ser. Casi seguro que nada de fondos animados y esas cosas, pero bueno, ya se verá.
Que ganas tengo de que salga y alguno de mis cocineros favoritos le ponga la mano encima.
Roms cocinadas de Eclair más perfeccionadas

Parece que con la salida de SDK de Android 2.1 las roms cocinadas de Eclair 2.1 están empezando a cobrar vida…
Hasta ahora el funcionamiento de Roms cocinadas con Eclair en HTC Magic o Dream dejaban un poquito que desear, roms lentas, la cámara de fotos dejaba de funcionar… pero ahora eso está empezando a cambiar. Por el momento ya tenemos un par de roms en las cuales la cámara de fotos ya funciona con normalidad (no sé si serán capaces de reproducir vídeo o no), una de ellas es la rom de Manup, pero tampoco podemos perder de vista a nuestro cocinero español favorito, Superatmel, que creo que todavía sigue compilando la nueva rom (ya van más de 20 horas)… bueno, habrá que esperar.
¿Y vosotros, os habéis atrevido Eclair 2.1, lo haréis en breve o esperaréis a una hipotética actualización OTA?
Resaca post-vacacional: El Nexus One ya está aquí…

Tras unas merecidas mini-vacaciones, volvemos con más fuerza y con todas las noticias, terminales y nuestros propios proyectos referentes al Sistema Operativo de Android.
Durante estos días, y tal como ya predijo el movimiento android, se produjo el evento anunciado por Google donde se mostró el Nexus One al público. Desde ese mismo momento se puso a la venta el terminal en su web, pero por ahora sólo se distribuye en Estados Unidos, Reino Unido, Singapur y Hong Kong. El precio de salida es de 529$ libre y 179 $ con un contrato de permanencia de 2 años con el operador asignado.
Las noticias dicen que hasta primavera de 2010 no llegará a España, veremos a qué precio, pero lo que sí parece casi confirmado es que llegará con Vodafone.
Benchmark de OpenGL-ES sobre Android

Los diseñadores de Adreno Graphics, creadores del juego Armadillo Roll, publicaron hace un tiempo un benchmark de rendimiento gráfico para los terminales Android: Neo Core, actualmente van por la Versión 1.9.09.
Ahora hay varios vídeos de usuarios que lo han probado y mostrado sus resultados, incluso uno con un Nexus One. Los resultados de los tests son:
- HTC Magic: 26,8 FPS (384MHz, 480×320, no se sabe si 32A o 32B (Vodafone, 128Mb RAM)).
- HTC Hero: 25,3 FPS (528MHz, 480×320).
- Motorola Dext: 25,5 FPS (538MHz, 480×320).
- Archos 5 IT: — No tiene procesador Qualcomm.
- Acer Liquid: 34,7 /33,8 FPS (768MHz, 800×480).
- Nexus One: 26,7 (1GHz, 800×480).
El resultado de este último deja un mal sabor de boca, ya que no parece corresponderse con lo que se espera de este terminal… y es que nos han vendido mucho potencial pero todavía no tenemos más pruebas que la información viral que se ha ido desprendiendo por los propios trabajadores o testers de Google.
También hay que aclarar que el resultado de los test depende mucho del estado del terminal, de la memoria libre, de los programas abiertos en segundo plano, etc.
Por nuestra parte, vamos a hacer unas pruebas y os comentaremos los resultados que nos den.
Día de los inocentes: No hay actualizaciones de Eclair (en la actualidad)

Sí, ayer fue el día de los santos inocentes y nosotros no íbamos a ser menos para no gastaros una bromita… el apk para meterse en la cola de las actualizaciones a Eclair no era más que un Androide “jashondo” que nos felicitaba por nuestra inocencia 
Pronto empezaremos a poner tutoriales y fuentes en el foro y os aseguramos que éste será uno de los primeros…
La FCC da el visto bueno al Nexus ONE

La Comisión Federal de las Comunicaciones (FCC) ya ha dado el OK al terminal de Google, tras realizarle las pruebas pertinentes de frecuencia y conectividad.
Por lo que se deduce no estabamos muy equivocados en las características:
- Es un terminal cuatribanda capaz de operar en GSM/ GPRS/ EDGE/ HSUPA/ HSDPA 900/ 1700/ 2100, con velocidades de 7.2Mbps/ 2Mbps de bajada/ subida.
- Ranura MicroSD.
- WiFi 802.11b/g.
- Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.
Estos rangos de frecuencias, en USA, se corresponden principalmente al operador T-Mobile, dejando atrás la compatibilidad con las bandas de AT&T como se rumoreaba a principios del día. Aún así, se sigue diciendo que se venderá libre de origen y cada vez corren más rumores de que posiblemente se pueda adquirir en las famosas cadenas de tiendas BestBuy.

2 Sims en un Android

Después de dar muchas vueltas he visto un adaptador que parece sí funcionar con Android, al menos eso es lo que parece cuando vemos las capturas. El adaptador en cuestión es Hypercard 3G: Digital Dualsim 3G, y requiere cortar las tarjeta sim.
Su precio no se puede considerar como económico ya que cuesta 59 euros, pero si de verdad funciona podría hacernos ahorrar bastante en llamadas a según que operadores o evitarnos tener que llevar encima un segundo móvil, como por ejemplo el de empresa.
También hay que decir que el adaptador, como la mayoría no nos permite usar las dos líneas al mismo tiempo, sino que desde menú podemos alternar de una a otra.
